Chapter 215: Dwarves?
Chapter 215: Dwarves?
In just ten days Heaven’s Door became a well known shop in the Dewhurst, competing against the Elven Potion. As the days passed, Elven Potion continued to lose its customers. Heaven’s Door, on the other hand, was developing on a breakneck speed. Just like Avibria city, long lines could be seen outside the shop in the morning.
It was only a matter of time before Heaven’s Door monopolizes the entire market of potion in Dewhurst. Maybe three or five days later no one buy potions from Elven Potion.
Anyway, it was already dark and after having dinner, Kadyn went to meditate, like usual; he was just a step away from reaching peak Embryonic Rank. Mature Rank wasn’t too far away from him. He had already left everyone behind in the shop a long time ago.
As Kadyn was about to enter the Meditation Room he frowned. Then he eyed towards the entrance of the shop and a light flashed inside his eyes. He hid himself behind a pillar in front of the main hall. Not long after, a few shadows jumped into the shop, from the top of the wall.
"Where does the owner of the shop sleep?" asked one hushed voice.
"They didn’t have any information about it," another voice replied in a similar manner. "We need to find it by our self."
"Stop wasting time," said another voice, in a more authoritative manner. "Let’s search for our target and finish the job. It’s been a long time we have received such an amazing deal. We can’t fail."
"Yes, boss," replied around four people. Kadyn estimated.
"Alright, go," said the boss, "but remember to make as less noise as possible."
The two of them went to the restaurant, and others, including the boss, walked towards the main building.
At this moment, however, Kadyn walked out from behind the pillar. "Yo, how I may help you?"
The group of three was stunned. They eyed Kadyn with wide eyes, unable to respond for some time, but then the boss uttered, "Attack!"
The boss and his two companions waved their hands, energy bursting out of their bodies. The boss was Embryonic Rank mage with fire element, while his two minions were Creation Rank with earth and wind element.
"Fire Meteor!" shouted the boss.
"Death Arrow!" said the wind mage.
"Land of Swamp!" whispered the earth mage.
Kadyn, suddenly, smiled and snapped his fingers. Everything froze. Whether it was Fire Meteor, or Death Arrow, or Land of Swamp—all the spells were frozen, as if the time has stopped, similar to their casters.
By then the other two intruders who had went to the restaurant rushed towards them. However, soon as they spotted the scene in front of them, they halted and turned to escape. But how could Kadyn let them leave just like that?
He said, "Freeze!" and the duo froze. This time he used the Space Element instead of the power of the shop.
"What happened?" said a voice. Kadyn turned and found Cecelia and others walking towards him. The boss of the intruders was stunned and confused when he saw them coming from behind the main building. He could, after all, not see the vast land spreading beyond the shop, only the members of the shop could.
Kadyn smiled at Cecelia and said, "It’s nothing. I caught some fishes."
"Oh, I love fishes," said Alerathla jubilantly.
Kadyn rolled his eyes at her and turned to Morwag. "Do you have any poison that could control people? I could do it with Psychic Element, but I have to waste a lot of my energy which I don’t want to."
Morwag nodded and brought a few vials of blue liquid. "Let them drink it. To control the poison they would need antidote every week, otherwise they would have a fate worse than death."
Kadyn shook his head at his last sentence. If Morwag knew what the meaning of worse than death, he wouldn’t dare to say such a thing. Anyway, Kadyn was grateful to him. He took the poison from him and dawned down the throats of the five intruders.
Only then Kadyn asked, "Now, speak, who sent you? Almon?"
"Who’s Almon?" asked the boss.
Kadyn frowned. "Not Almon?" He thought it was manager of Elven Potion branch in Dewhurst, who sent these people, but it seems his guess was not accurate. "Then who send you?" he asked.
"I don’t know," The boss hurriedly continued when he Kadyn’s face darkened, "but—but I know he was a dwarf."
"A dwarf?" Kadyn frowned, and then his eyes flashed. "Artefact business," said the people beside him. He nodded. In just ten days Heaven’s Door had become one of the best shops in Dewhurst, and they didn’t just sell potions, they also sold artefacts!
It was obvious that the other business rivals won’t take it lying down and would try to remove Heaven’s Door as soon as possible. Elven Potion was a bit more straightforward, while these dwarves were a sneaky lot.
Kadyn though briefly and then turned towards the boss. "You should go now, and try to produce an illusion that you escaped after a battle against us. I’m sure that person would come to you to find out the situation of our shop."
"But—"
"You will do as I tell you, if you want to live, that is," Kadyn snapped at the man, his eyes cold. The boss bit his lip and nodded. There was unwillingness and resentment, but no matter what he felt, he was under Kadyn’s control.
Then Kadyn kicked and punched the five of them, making them grovel on the ground and whimper in sheer terror. "Now, that’s look more genuine."
Cecelia and other gave him thumbs up. Kadyn looked at the boss and said, "Go, run as fast as you can."
The five of them struggled off the ground and rushed towards the gate with trembling legs.
"Not from the gate," said Kadyn. "You are running away from enemy. Can you be any less professional?"
The boss’ lips twitched and jumped climbed the wall together with his companions. Then Kadyn turned towards Cecelia and said, "I guess, you know what you need to do?"
Cecelia nodded and vanished.
