Chapter 179: Not So Smart
Chapter 179: Not So Smart
No matter how others see it, regardless of whether they understand it or not.
With a series of apologies from the Emperors of the Five Nations, and their willingness to abdicate for redemption, it seems this lively drama has come to an inexplicable conclusion.
"Your identity can no longer be concealed, what will you do?"
Xiya listened to the apology declarations of the Emperors of the Five Nations with a blank expression; she wasn’t interested in the sincerity of their apologies, she only cared about Lynn.
Through this event, Lynn’s identity must be as transparent as glass to certain individuals; he had never revealed his identity publicly from the moment he was present at the World Tree until now, presumably for his own reasons.
Yet now, his plans must have been disrupted by these foolish Emperors of the Five Nations?
"If it can’t be concealed, so be it. I never intended to hide anything, just didn’t flaunt my identity."
Lynn shrugged indifferently, even though he’s not at his full peak now, the foundation of a 999-level Near God state is still intact; the gravestone of the same level Demon Dragon Emperor has grass growing two to three meters high now. He has nothing to fear regarding identity exposure.
As long as the identity of the new Demon Emperor isn’t revealed to the Miracle World, it doesn’t count as exposed.
Oh, nor can he expose his dual identity of Miracle Saint Emperor and Demon Dragon Emperor to the Demon Realm, otherwise... uh, it actually wouldn’t endanger him, just would make things a bit troublesome, forcing him down a path of reckless brutality.
Although beheading the Demons is his forte, there are too many Demons in the Demon Realm; if relying solely on his sword, even a 40-meter saber wouldn’t suffice.
If only he were a powerful Mage, a 999-level Near God Mage, drop one super Forbidden Curse, millions of Demons would vanish, cleansing through the Demon Realm wouldn’t be too difficult.
But, in the Miracle World, there are no 999-level Mages, even in the past "Miracle" game, Mage was the fastest leveling profession, but only he, as a Warrior, smoothly ascended to level 999.
Thinking back now, it seems quite peculiar...
"Who knows what the Demon Race will think upon learning of your return; I’m afraid they might react aggressively."
Xiya held Lynn’s hand with slight concern. But since he felt it wasn’t a problem, it presumably wasn’t.
However, the spies and agents of the Demon Race across continents will have their hands full, once they convey information back to the Demon Realm, even the Demon Realm might face chaos for a while.
"Rest assured, with me here, the Demon Race will never succeed."
Lynn felt Xiya’s smooth hand, offering reassurance with his dual identity.
Especially in his role as the Demon Emperor; as long as he remains in that position, the Demon Race mustn’t dream of waging invasion again, he’d strive to strangle the war between realms at its cradle.
"Perhaps I’m overthinking this, but if that’s the case, shouldn’t the Continent Alliance focus its efforts on eliminating entrenched issues? Rarely are there extreme wicked persons like the Celestial Mandate Emperor, yet there’s much to be remedied."
Having traveled the continent extensively, Xiya, quite knowledgeable about the Divine Protection Continent, knew a bit about the accumulated issues in different nations, resolving these could greatly improve the people’s lives.
"They should indeed, but actually wanting to accomplish these tasks might be even harder than battling the Demon Race."
Lynn furrowed his brows slightly, without grand ambitions to save all suffering peoples, nor possibly the capability.
He excelled in combat, while reforming all countries on the continent requires more than killing; as long as the dark sides of human nature and various desires remain, cleaning every corner would be impossible.
Unless the Light God King, as legend says, purifies the hearts of all believers, turning them into spotless beings of Light.
However, legends remain legends; historically, from the Light Empire itself, officials and criminals have been uncovered, not to mention bad ones among believers in other nations, venerating the Light God King.
To achieve the legend-like purity, they’d need to be fanatics of the Light God King, yet fanatics barely make up one-twentieth of believers in various Divine Halls, the Light Church Court included.
Expecting faith to cleanse sin isn’t realistic, a revolution might be required.
Revolution...
What qualifications do I, Lynn, possess to orchestrate such a thing?
Not that I aim to disgrace the crossover crowd, truth is, I simply lack the thinking for it.
"Take it slowly, in any case, with you here, the Divine Protection Continent faces no external threats."
Being a long-life race, Xiya possesses ample patience. So long as the Demon Race’s threat is nullified, the continent has hope to gradually improve.
The precondition being the Demon Race poses no threat; if the Demon Emperor-level power emerges from the far-off world’s Demon Race, things would be unpredictable.
However, likelihood is low, given Lynn as a 999-level Near God, carries achievements of slaying the 999-level Demon Dragon Emperor, even if a new Emperor arises in the Demon Realm, what could they possibly do? Could they surpass the late Demon Realm Emperor in strength?
A 999-level Demon Dragon Emperor succumbed to Lynn’s sword, mightier Demons could only be the Demon God; yet the Demon God cannot descend upon the Divine Protection Continent.
"Alright, let’s stop discussing this, let’s head home first, you still need to coax Little Youli."
"Right oh."
With those words, Lynn and Xiya hand in hand went home, disregarding how far-reaching his reputation extended beyond the Celestial Destiny Empire.
...
"Daddy, Daddy! Just now someone shouted loudly they want to kill you, then shouted louder to apologize. Doesn’t that seem like their brains aren’t working right?"
As soon as Lynn and Xiya reached home, Little Yuna rushed out, throwing herself around Lynn’s waist, speaking about the strange words she’d overheard.
Vivian and Catherine had also returned home early due to the announcement by the Five Nations’ Emperors; after such events, they couldn’t focus on special training. If not for the Emperors’ quick apologies with sincere attitudes afterward, they worried Lynn might have gone off with a knife.
Knowing he truly had killed an Emperor before, and while these Five Nations’ Emperors weren’t as vile as the Celestial Mandate Emperor, their reputations were mostly unsavory. Any real confrontation with Lynn would’ve likely led to an unusual way of Emperor replacement for those nations.
"It’s fine, they just aren’t very bright. Little Yuna, you don’t need to worry about those matters, just be happy daily and finish your schoolwork."
Lynn reached out to pat Little Yuna’s round head, then lifted the plump cat that jumped up, Gugie appeared equally anxious expressed in "kitty’s very worried"; little did it know Lynn got plenty of silver fish snacks from Helena for it.
