Magic Shop System

Chapter 235: The war is coming

Chapter 235: The war is coming

After Kadyn purified her bloodline once more, only then Cecelia felt comfortable. Her body became light and her mind clear. The nasty voice in her head also vanished. She did not know whose voice it was but she knew it had something to do with her vampire bloodline and Blood Tribe.

Nonetheless, she did not want to become a vampire like before, nor did she want to become a puppet for others to control her. She’d rather die than become a slave to others and begin carnage like they were doing.

Kadyn bestowed the Light element to Cecelia which was pretty effective in countering her bloodline, dark and light also balanced each other. After the shop had upgraded to rank six, Kadyn had full control over the shop.

Now he did not need Energy Points to meditate inside the Meditation Room, he did not need to pay anything to get spells or anything else. The shop, now, belonged to him. Literally. Now he was the owner.

He could take anything out of the shop and give it to others. Owner, yes, I am the real boss here.

Although the Energy Point system had become useless, Kadyn did not feel any remorse. It was a hindrance to his progress, anyway. Instead now he had full command to do whatever he wanted to do. Now they could improve their strength without any obstruction.

"Are you serious?" asked Aleera with a bewildered and shocked expression. She could not believe that he had something like this, and why did he have something like this, anyway?

Wasn’t he just a boy coming from a rundown place? Did he really inherit the metal of some mighty figure of the ancient time on the Pengolla? But then why did she always feel something was wrong with her theory?

"Yes," Kadyn replied as he passed a scroll to her. He smiled and continued in a soft voice. "This is a spatial spell called Spacelock. It is a crowd-control-type spell, very effective in group battles." Then he passed another scroll. "And this is Soulfreeze. It directly attacks the soul of a target, very powerful. Both of them are Peak rank 6 spells. And very useful."

"Why are you giving me these?" asked Aleera, eyeing the scrolls in front of her with an eager expression. "Why?"

"Well, the whole world is about to plunge into darkness. If I can help in improving the strength of Pengolla against the common enemy, then why not?"

"So, you know?" She asked with glittering eyes.

"Of course, I know," Kadyn rolled his eyes at her. "Even normal people are talking about it. How could I not know it?"

"But why me?" she asked, her entrancing eyes fixated on his face. "Why not anyone else?"

"Because I do not trust them?" Kadyn smiled.

"You trust me?"

"At least more than them," replied Kadyn.

What a bore! Aleera rolled her eyes at his humourless, rigid, and straightforward reply. Can’t he be a bit more tactful?

But she did not know how hard Kadyn was trying to be tactful. Kadyn had terrible communication skills. Even a kid might do better than him in convincing others. Nonetheless, it was this tactlessness that roused Aleera’s interest in him.

"If you have some trustworthy people, you can send them to my shop. If they are peak rank 5 mages, they would take at most fifteen to twenty days to break through to the next realm."

"Are you serious?" Aleera opened her eyes wide, in shock. She had never heard anyone could improve his strength at such a fast pace. Then she frowned and looked at him. "If it is so easy to reach the Assimilation Stage, why are you still at the Mature Stage?"

If it was any other time he might have not liked this way of talking. It was almost like an interrogation. However, he did not have the luxury to flaunt his awesomeness. The war was coming. And he also had a soft corner for Aleera in his heart. "My situation is special, but it won’t take me long to reach Assimilation Stage, nonetheless. I am not forcing you, if you don’t want to send them, that’s fine as well."

Aleera eyed him deeply for a good minute and then nodded. "I will trust you this time."

Then she called Arba, who summoned some of their sisters, as commanded by Aleera. In no time the hall was filled with around fifty gorgeous and beautiful and enchanting women, some wearing revealing clothes while others had their full bodies covered, some were human and others were either demi-human or elves with a small number of dwarves.

After sending the women inside the Meditation Room, Kadyn was about to go and brew a few more potions when a man dashed towards him. He turned around and found it was Dion, huffing and puffing, painted in dripping wet sweat, face red. "What happened?" he asked.

"Kallus is here?" he replied as he sucked a deep and long breath of oxygen.

"Kallus?" Kadyn said in confusion. "Who is that?"

Dion looked at him in shock, completely dumbfounded, as if he could not believe that Kadyn had forgotten about such a significant figure. He took a whiff of another deep breath and said, "Emperor of Ceston. Hayla’s father."

"Ah, I see," Kadyn wiped his nose awkwardly, as he finally remembered the man, and went on. "What about him? Why is he here?"

"He lost the Ceston Empire. The vampires have taken over it."

Kadyn stopped in his trek, frowning. So it has already reached Eozen Continent, huh? He did not think that they would start attacking Eozen so soon. It seems he did not have much time left. He only hoped that his preparation would be completed when the enemy came to Vrilas. And he knew they would come, after all this was the present-day holy land of Pengolla.

Kadyn nodded and then went to check on Kallus. He was inside the house. When Kadyn arrived he spotted the man sitting on the sofa, Hayla, Elora and a few others were standing there. Rayna was offering him a glass of cold water which he gladly took and gulped down his throat.

Kadyn could not believe he was the same dignified and proud emperor he had seen in the Ceston. Now he looked haggard and tired. His clothes were tattered and his face smeared with dirt and dust. He looked like a beggar.
