Chapter 427: Ch
Chapter 427: Ch
With the arrival of these ships and weapons, the White Moon Wolf Empire immediately began preparing to make a greater move against them, this time with immense confidence that they would succeed.
And Salazar supported it.
The goal was to deal with the Blood Moon Empire, which had long set its eyes on their territories. If such a state were destroyed, it could only be said that they had it coming.
Meanwhile, another Tier-1 power not far from this region of the galaxy, the Dark Sun Empire, was experiencing something similar. The only difference was that they were far more proactive than the other two powers, the Wolf Empire and the Dark Angels.
But unlike the more united stance within the Dark Angel state and the Wolf Empire, there were differing opinions within the Dark Sun Empire.
The ruling royal family doubted the intentions of the Void Fleet, while at the same time the Council of State, which controlled the empire’s military and even possessed the authority to strip an emperor of power under specific circumstances, held a different view.
The council readily supported the deal, not minding the small roadblocks that appeared when they realized that all along they had been playing into the hands of the rising Void Fleet power. Although this realization displeased them at first, the moment they heard about the existence of a Seer within the Void Fleet’s forces, they immediately forgot their earlier dissatisfaction and became staunch supporters of the agreement.
Which, mind you, had already been signed.
With some friction here and there, the situation escalated to the point that even the head of the council personally stepped forward and promised that they would deal with the royal family if they had to, just to ensure that this partnership would continue without any roadblocks in between.
And even if there were obstacles, they would handle them.
With force if necessary.
But the partnership had to continue.
Kayden accepted their words, but before leaving, he reminded the councilor of one thing.
"Do not ever let the thought enter your mind that this agreement between us is unbreakable. It may be impossible for you, but not for us. And let me tell you this clearly. No harm will fall upon us, but as for you and your state... that would be another matter entirely, and the outcome would be completely and absolutely opposite to ours."
Saying that coldly, Kayden turned around and walked away with his team without even sparing them another glance.
Along with them, they also took back nearly sixty to seventy percent of the weapons and assets they had originally brought to hand over.
Because Kayden felt, and even the Red Empress, whom he contacted within moments, agreed, that the Dark Sun Empire was not worth serious investment or partnership.
"For now, after we achieve our goal, we can simply let them be if they continue like this. If the situation changes in the future, then we can discuss it further."
"But more than that, you must accept one thing, Lord Kayden. The fault also lies with you, as you failed to carry out your due diligence properly and prevent this situation from happening in the first place."
Hearing this, Kayden was not even able to raise his head and could only stare at the floor silently.
"Let this become a lesson for you, Lord Kayden. Learn from it well so that you do not make such mistakes again."
After saying that, the projection of the Empress disappeared from the place.
Kayden then returned to reality, walked away, boarded his mothership, and disappeared from the star system altogether.
While Kayden and his entourage left quietly, their dissatisfaction was starkly visible to the councilors and council members. Soon enough, this plunged the Dark Sun Empire into a massive political storm between the two factions.
Caution spread throughout the Dark Sun Empire as the two sides fought each other both openly and from the shadows. Before long, even the common people noticed the conflict, though in truth it was the factions themselves that had intentionally led the public into it.
However, one side possessed a clear advantage, and that was the council.
When the records of what had truly transpired were revealed, the entire empire was thrown into shock.
Within just a few days, even the Holy Light Angel Empire learned of the matter and immediately began escalating the situation into another level of interstellar political warfare. Their people jumped in openly, mocking the citizens of the Dark Sun Empire and especially the emperor for his "great decision."
At the same time, they mocked the council as well, saying they lacked the backbone to remove the emperor from his throne despite possessing the authority to do so.
This drew the attention of many other powers and brought even greater focus onto the situation, sending super-level shockwaves across this star sector and many neighboring regions for various reasons.
As time passed, more and more hidden matters began surfacing into the open, causing yet another wave of shock throughout the region. For the higher-ups, life became a living hell, while for the lower-level citizens it became a massive source of entertainment and gossip.
Meanwhile, almost completely unaffected by all of this was the Galactic Rim, which had entered a rare period of calm.
As the founding ceremony of the Void Fleet Empire drew nearer, security around the Sol region only continued to increase. Even the more chaotic forces feared causing trouble during this period.
With only four days remaining before the founding ceremony, the invited guests from the various nations slowly began appearing near the formerly ruled territory systems of the Minotaur Clan.
Now also known as the Western Peripheral Zone, the region had mostly been integrated into Void Fleet territory.
Within the formerly known Minotaur Prime star system, now renamed the Solas Prime star system, and not far from the central planet, a Tier-5 planet, a massive ring-like construct could be seen anchored in space. Gigantic battlestars stood guard nearby, not one but two of them on either side, joined by at least five to ten fleets moving around in strict formations, securing the entire star system and the gigantic construct made of some unknown alloy.
Just then, not far from the edge of the star system, a small legion made up of around one hundred to one hundred and twenty ships carrying the insignia of Elfenheim appeared. Beneath it was the insignia of the Archduke of the West.
Not long after the fleet entered the Solas Prime system, it was approached by a smaller battlegroup. Only after they presented their invitation, and after it was thoroughly verified, were they allowed to proceed unobstructed.
Even then, although the number of weapons locked onto them visibly decreased, several still remained aimed directly at the fleet.
This terrified the elves onboard and even caused the Duke of the West, who was also Vivian’s father, to sweat quite heavily.
He could not help but speak bitterly.
"Damn... such a level of power and deployment. What the hell are they even protecting? And can’t they pull those weapons away from our ships? At least hide them."
Even as a true being of the Genesis Law Realm initial phase, he still felt as though his life could end at any moment, and that constant sensation acted as immense psychological pressure upon him.
Thinking of something, he hurriedly added,
"Make the fleet move exactly as instructed and ensure that nothing odd or weird happens during this time frame... unless you all want us to be smashed into space dust."
The loyal wingman of the duke shuddered and nodded his head repeatedly like a chicken about to be slaughtered. He quickly warned every personnel under him that they absolutely dared not do anything reckless at this moment.
Not long after, a request for communication appeared.
The duke did not delay even for a second and immediately accepted it.
To their surprise, the face that appeared on the screen was a familiar one. It was none other than Celest, the best friend of his daughter.
But as a duke and a man of perception, he found something vastly different about the Celest standing before him. Though he could not quite put his finger on it, he felt that she now carried an aura of confidence and power around her.
Only then did he notice the uniform she was wearing.
It looked strangely familiar, bearing a resemblance to the higher-ranking uniforms of the Void Fleet.
As the gears in his mind moved at a terrifying pace, he realized something extremely quickly.
Mind you, only a few milliseconds had passed, not even a full second, during all this contemplation.
It was then that he heard Celest’s voice and the manner in which she spoke, which acted as the final nail in the coffin, making him certain of his thoughts.
"Greetings, Lord Duke. It is my pleasure, and that of our Void Fleet, to welcome you and have you join this grand and important ceremony of ours."
