Chapter 157: Making Terra Cubes
Chapter 157: Making Terra Cubes
"Let’s see what this stuff is all about," Raiden muttered under his breath as he opened the thin booklet in front of him.
Basic Terra Block Manual
Raiden had bought it long, long ago, but he never used it until now. He had always been too busy working on other things to create Terra Cubes for his own use, let alone a commercial one.
He opened the first page and started reading it properly.
’Terra Blocks, also known as Terra Cubes, is something created by humans after trial and error for hundreds of years.
It lets someone use berries and extract the essence of the fruit while discarding the rest, giving rise to pure energy blocks that help massively in development and evolution.
Terra Blocks is also something that lets Battle Masters finally edge out the wild Terra Beasts in terms of development speed and growth, finally giving humanity a chance to fight back for survival.’
"Huh, I didn’t know it was this deep. Should have studied it earlier. Anyways, better late than never."
Raiden flipped through the book a few more times, skipping all the boring history lessons directly to the core material.
’Terra Cubes are divided into 10 Grades based on their purity:
1. Crude: <50%
2. Poor: 50-59%
3. Common: 60-69%
4. Good: 70-79%
5. Fine: 80-84%
6. Great: 85-89%
7. Master: 90-94%
8. GrandMaster: 95-97%
9. Mythic: 98-99%
10. Nuclear: 100%
From what Raiden understood, all he had to do was make use of his mental and physical powers through a machine to mix berries and create Terra Blocks.
The better the purity, the more it would sell for, with nuclear terra selling for as much as 20 times the price.
It sounded straightforward until he researched even more deeply about it and realised the best publicly available Terra Blocks never exceeded the master category.
Thankfully, to make 60 million, all he needed to do was reach the fourth tier, Good, where selling Terra Cubes became profitable.
"5 days to reach the fourth tier. It does not sound too hard. All I need to do is push barries into the machine, insert energy, and get out Terra Cubes, right? Doesn’t sound too hard at all." Raiden proclaimed confidently to Sylvia, who was doing her homework in front of him.
"Sure, sure, whatever you say, brother. Now, please go away and don’t disturb me from my work." She shooed him away without even looking up from her book on her desk.
"You don’t understand the significance of it. If I can do it, we will be rich!!" Raiden told her, trying to get a bigger reaction out of her.
Sylvia paused her work to look up at her brother with a deadpan expression.
"You told me the same thing before we came to the farm. Now, we are in an even bigger debt than we were before. 3x times bigger. I have no idea what you are trying to do, but please don’t end up in jail for defaulting on money, okay? I don’t want to visit you inside the cells."
After finishing her words, Sylvia went back to her studies, leaving Raiden standing there speechlessly.
"Fine, fine, just wait and watch, you brat. See how I turn us into billionaires. Humph!!" Raiden walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
He quickly made his way outside before seeing Woolie and Neva fighting against each other.
"Hey you guys!! Stop fighting for a second. Do you want to eat something tasty? I am telling you, it’s going to be one of the most tested things in the world." Raiden tried to swindle-coax the little Terra Beast to be his testers.
"Woolie?!" (★ ω ★)
"Sha?!" ₍₍⚞(˶>ᗜ<˶)⚟⁾⁾
Both the gluttons had their eyes light up at the words as they nodded frantically.
’All right!! Guinea pigs secured.’ After a mental cheer, Raiden quickly made his way to the nearby second barn he had constructed recently. It was a very small barn, roughly 50 m in size, created to store all the different kinds of berries he harvested.
A small portion of the barn was filled with stacks of berries harvested from his farm in the past few months, and on the other side, he could see a massive machine standing against the wall.
Around 10 m big, it occupied one fourth of the left side of the place, and it was also where he could make his Terra Cubes.
While there were new, modern, and smaller machines that could do a better job of creating Terra Blocks, this was the cheapest one he could find, so he bought it. An ancient machine from 80 years ago.
"All I need to do is just grind and make a few Terra Cubes, right? Just watch me. Woolie, go and bring a few berries from that side."
Woolie grumbled, but with the promise of tasty food, he went ahead and grabbed a wooden crate in his mouth before bringing it to Raiden and putting it down in front of him.
Bang!!
Raiden looked at the shining translucent berries in front of him and felt his eye twitch.
"You want me to practise with these? No way, these are way too expensive. Go grab something cheaper, the cheapest kind." Raiden spoke with experation. He has actually brought over S Tier Berries, each worth their weight in gold.
There was no way he could use them before he was good enough.
"Woolie Woo!!" I don’t understand what you are talking about, human. They all look the same to me. Also, where is the tasty food?
Woolie tilted his head to the side as he replied.
"You know what, never mind. I’ll go grab them myself."
Raiden made his way over and quickly grabbed a box of berries before making his way to the machine.
Unlike the shining and translucent berries from before, these ones look dull and had multiple spots on their bodies, giving off a very unappetizing feel.
These were precisely the cheapest berries one could buy in the market, which Raiden had ordered especially to practise his craft from Maple.
Neva, who was standing on Raiden’s shoulder, leaned down and took one whiff at them before turning her head away in disgust.
"Sha Sha!!" They smell very bad, Rai Rai~
"Don’t worry, they will taste good after I’m done with them. Just wait and watch. Now stand back."
Raiden didn’t waste any more time as he took a few berries and inserted them into the machine.
You needed 2 kgs of bearish to create a single Terra Cube. It was a good thing the machine could measure everything inside.
After dumping all the berries inside the machine, he pressed the button.
The machine whirred to life with a clank, like an old petrol-powered generator from his previous work, its body shining.
He quickly pressed a few buttons on it, which showed the status saying it was ready for power input before putting his hands on two pads specially designed to channel power.
Within a few seconds, he closed his eyes and channelled all his mental powers into the machine.
As soon as he did, he could feel the insights of the machine and see all the berries getting mixed together using his power as a catalyst.
It was a very novel feeling to him as he unconsciously channelled even more power into it.
Boom!!
A blast sounded from the machine, scaring Raiden into drawing his hands.
A second later, he unconsciously looked at the machine that had come to life as the conveyor belt on it started moving before what looked like some charred remains came rolling out of it.
Neva, Woolie, and Raiden, all three of them, looked at it in silence before both Terrans turned their eyes on him, as if asking, ’Where is the delicious food promised?’
"Ahem, A mistake, a beginner’s mistake. Since it was my first time, next time you will finally see the end product. Get ready to eat some tasty food."
Raiden once again put his hands on the pads, channelling his power using his mental energy as a catalyst to mix the berries. This time, he controlled them very finely, trying his best.
Boom!!
When he withdrew his hands a second later, he was shocked to see black charred coming out of the machine once again.
"No way!! It shouldn’t be so hard. Let me try again."
Without waiting for their reaction, Raiden started channelling his mental strength once again.
Boom!!
"Again!!"
Boom!!
"Once Again!!"
Boom!!
"Damn it!! One last time, this time for sure!!"
Boom!!
Boom!!
Boom!!
The explosions of failure kept ringing throughout the day farm from the barn, scaring nearby farm Terra Beasts into fleeing.
